A jacquard fabric for my friend Barbara, which I designed based on a photo of her sister. It shows her sister Inge at a very young age with a backpack that is much too big for her. I wanted to transfer the feeling of the photo from the 1970s to the present day. So that her spirit can continue to brighten Barbara's life.

The process was challenging, but I stuck to my tried-and-tested processing technique and, as a first step in this direction, began by selecting the colors of the yarn material very carefully. The weaving technique of this particular fabric has taught me (after all these years) so much about Jacquard weaving that I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to realize this work. Barbara loves the fabric as much as I do.
